King Homecoming is BACK!

Here's why you should go!

King Homecoming is BACK!

Homecoming is back! And it’s better than ever. After a long year of harsh, but necessary Covid regulations and quarantines, the Vikings are back, and we’re throwing a party! Expect to see athletic competitions, musical performances, fun entertainment and games, plus so much more. There’s great opportunities for everyone, of all ages, to let loose and have a great time! Plus, we can’t forget about the pep rally later today. The whole current King community will be out in force, celebrating one of the biggest events of the year for the first time in what seems like forever. For those who are new, the Pep Rally will feature performances from the Jazz/Rock Combo, as well as introductions (and potential dance performances) from all the fall sports teams. We also can’t forget about the Lower School Spirit Squad, who have been working hard putting together a performance for the Pep Rally. It should be a ton of fun.

Beyond the sports games and the music, there is TONS to do at homecoming. Some of the highlights include inflatable bounce houses and slides, caricaturists, and a petting zoo! If that wasn’t enough for you, then there will also be lawn games, balloon artists, and a photo booth. If you’re hungry, the Parents Association has put together a bake sale and there will be food trucks from Reddi Rooster, Crazy Taco-Mex, Melt Mobile, and John the Baker’s pizza truck. Make sure you stop by the Parents Association tent as they will also be selling King merchandise, and the proceeds go to great events like this for us all to enjoy!

King Cares 5K:

Wrapping up this amazing weekend, is an opportunity to give back to our community. The 9th annual King Cares Charity 5K will be held this Sunday at 10:00 AM (9:15 registration). Proceeds from the event will go to support the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford, as well as the Orphaned Starfish Foundation. Huge thanks to the Varsity Field Hockey, and boys and girls Soccer Teams for putting on this amazing event!

This weekend is a great chance for the entire King Community to come together and have a great time. Parking will be on a first come first serve basis and there will be portable restrooms available around the fields. We here at the Pelican hope to see everyone there at the biggest King celebration of the year!
